Rich results without writing a line of JSON

Structured data describes a page’s content in a vocabulary search engines understand, Schema.org, in the JSON-LD format recommended by Google. It unlocks rich results: stars and prices on a product page, expandable questions under a result, a breadcrumb instead of the URL, opening hours and address of a business.

It also helps AI answer engines understand who you are and what you sell: a clean Organization or LocalBusiness markup is one of the foundations of visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini.

This generator covers the six types agencies and online shops ask for most. The code is produced in your browser and updates with every keystroke.

How to use the generated code

  • Paste the block into the <head> of the page concerned, or in the template footer if the markup applies to the whole site (Organization).
  • One markup per entity: do not put two LocalBusiness blocks on the same page. For a FAQ, the questions must be visible on the page.
  • Product: price, currency and availability are required for stars and prices in Google Shopping and classic results.
  • Article: image, author, publisher and publication date are expected by Google News and Discover.
  • Verify with Google’s Rich Results Test before delivering to the client.

Frequently asked questions

What is JSON-LD and why does Google recommend it?

JSON-LD is a format that places structured data in a script block separate from the visible HTML. Google recommends it because it is easy to add without touching the page content, easy to maintain in a CMS template and less error-prone than inline microdata markup.

Which type should I pick for a client’s site?

Organization for a business without a physical venue, LocalBusiness or a subtype (Restaurant, Dentist, Store) for a venue that receives the public, Article for a blog, Product for a product page, FAQPage for a questions page and BreadcrumbList for the breadcrumb of every deep page.

Does structured data improve rankings?

Not directly. It enables rich results that take more space and get more clicks, helps Google understand the page and strengthens the brand entity, which also matters for visibility in AI answer engines. Google may not show the rich result even when the markup is valid.

How do I check that the code is valid?

Paste the page URL or the code into Google’s Rich Results Test. Our free on-page analysis also detects the JSON-LD blocks present on a page and flags malformed JSON.

Can I generate the markup for every page of a shop?

This generator produces one block at a time, ideal for a page or a template. For an entire shop, the markup should come from the theme or the CMS. The GoMySeo audit then checks, on every crawled page, that structured data is present and valid.

Check the structured data of a whole site?

The GoMySeo audit checks every crawled page: markup present, valid and consistent with the content.
