Speed test and Core Web Vitals.

The mobile and desktop score, the three Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) and the recommendations that save the most time, for a client’s page or your own.

The test runs two real measurements, mobile and desktop: allow 20 to 40 seconds. A result is kept for 10 minutes.

Free, no sign-up. Nothing is stored: the page is analyzed, then forgotten.

Measure what Google really measures

Speed is a ranking factor and above all a conversion factor: a slow page loses visitors before it even shows its content. This tool queries the official Google PageSpeed Insights API and shows you the essentials: the performance score on mobile and desktop, the Core Web Vitals and the recommendations ranked by time saved.

Two data sources appear when they exist. Field data comes from real Chrome visitors over the last 28 days: this is what Google uses for ranking. The lab test is an instant measurement on a simulated connection: it is for diagnosing and verifying a fix.

For a client site, run the test on the home page, a category page and a product page or article: issues often differ from one template to another.

How to read the results

  • LCP (Largest Contentful Paint): time to display the largest visible element. Good up to 2.5 s, needs improvement up to 4 s.
  • CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift): visual stability, the elements that move while loading. Good up to 0.1.
  • INP (Interaction to Next Paint): responsiveness to clicks and typing. Good up to 200 ms. In the lab, TBT gives an approximation.
  • Score: 90 and above is green, 50 to 89 orange, below 50 red. It varies by a few points between runs, which is normal.
  • Recommendations: start with those showing the biggest gain in seconds. Oversized images, render-blocking scripts and server response time come up in most cases.

Frequently asked questions

What are the Core Web Vitals?

Three loading experience metrics defined by Google: LCP for the display speed of the main content, CLS for visual stability and INP for responsiveness to interactions. Google measures them on real visitors and uses them as a ranking signal.

Why is the mobile score lower than the desktop score?

The mobile test simulates a mid-range phone on a slow 4G connection, whereas the desktop test assumes a fast wired connection. Since Google indexes sites primarily in their mobile version, the mobile score matters most.

Why is field data missing?

Google only publishes real-visitor data if the page, or failing that the whole site, gets enough traffic from Chrome. Small sites and recent pages often have none: the lab test remains, which is enough to diagnose and fix.

Is the test free and how often can I use it?

Yes, with no sign-up, up to 20 tests per hour. Results for the same page are kept for 10 minutes to avoid re-running Google needlessly. The analysis is done by Google, GoMySeo only presents it.

How do I track the speed of every page on a client site?

A GoMySeo SEO audit measures the speed of each crawled page and cross-checks it with the other technical signals, then lets you re-run the audit after fixing and deliver a white-label report. The 7-day free trial on Essentiel lets you test it on a first site.

The speed of the whole site, not just one page?

The GoMySeo audit measures every crawled page and ranks issues by severity, with a 30-day action plan.
